My Happy Jar
I love creating memories!
As I get older I realize more and more how fragile time is and how we need to enjoy all the moments, both big and small. I have grown to love writing, especially in journals where I can free write to remind myself of moments I never want to forget, but I know some people aren’t as keen to sit down and write a full length novel.
If that’s you, I have the perfect idea! I like to think of it as a little jar of happy. A little something to remind you of the times where you felt great, learned a lesson, laughed, etc. A memorable moment in time that will bring you joy when you are having an off day.
What you need:
- Scissors
- Pen or pencil
- Jar with a lid ( I like to use a mason jar)
- Paper ( scrap paper, craft paper, printer paper)
The idea with this little craft is to cut your paper into small pieces. The pieces should be small enough that you will be able to fit them into the jar.
With your pen or pencil write down a special memory or thought that brings you joy, and date the memory too so you can be reminded when looking back on years to come.
If you want to get more creative, you can even decorate your jar so it will look like a decoration in your room! Try to place it somewhere it can easily be seen, that way you are reminded to write down a little note everyday, and if you need a little mid day happiness booster it is convenient for you to open up and take a look.
Hopefully, it will serve as a little daily reminder of all the good blessings you have in your life which can easily get overshadowed by our daily stressors and everyday routines. Feel free to share your creations on instagram and tag me @smilewithjenna
